That’s why CEMI Resources provide an online hub with training, technical assistance, and resources to community organizations to help them influence inclusive economic development in their communities, cities and regions. This website will include a combination of inspiring video recordings, custom-designed training materials, and resource lists that are easily accessible. The materials will be accessible on their own as an ongoing resource and will also be used as a basis for in-person and virtual training and workshops that foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The goals of the training materials are to provide community organizations with the understanding and tools they need to shape a new economic framework that is inclusive, equitable, and just, by providing deeper understanding of how the economy is structured, the role of mutuality and movements in shaping a new economic framework, community economic development theory, goals, process, strategies, organization, and issues. It will also help in developing skills and tools for community economic analysis and planning, analyzing specific opportunities to leverage public funding sources for economic recovery and development in California, and identifying information sources and resources to support further research and practice of community economic development.
